Andrew Flintoff to alter bowling actionSept 9 - England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is looking to subtly alter his bowling action in a bid to reduce the number of injuries he suffers to his left ankle.
Star performer 'Freddie', 29, had a painkilling injection in the joint before helping England to a 4-3 series win over India at Lord's on Saturday, taking three wickets and a catch in the process.
"Andrew's ankle is not right and he is not particularly confident with it, but he got through yesterday," England chairman of selectors David Graveney told the BBC.
"It is just a matter of us managing it day to day. Be assured, we would not play him if there was a danger of it getting worse and there are a few aspects people are working on to hopefully take away the discomfort."
The England team travel to South Africa for the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup on Sunday.
Graveney revealed that any change to Flintoff's bowling style would be undertaken gradually, however.
"People have looked at his front foot position to see if that has any affect on his ankle, to take the pressure off it slightly," he continued.
"It will be gently over a period of time - it is not going to happen in a matter of days."
Lancashire captain Flintoff, who has had the ankle operated upon three times, will be worked upon by national fast bowling coach and former South Africa star Allan Donald.
